Local Control

The state of West Virginia, with regard to state government, is one of the most centralized in the nation. This is due to a variety of factors – including history and the state constitution. I believe that government is most relevant and responsive when it is localized. This issue is particularly relevant to our district, since it borders other states. One of the key areas of concern is education. Our state education system is centralized and resists attempts to address issues of concern in our district.
