The United States of America is the greatest nation that has ever existed. It was founded on the ideals of freedom – each citizen is endowed with unalienable rights – the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our constitution is the foundation of liberty. There is no nation on earth that has ever ennobled and empowered the individual to the extent that ours has.
It has now been more than two centuries since the enactment of that great document. Through that time period we have faced many threats to our liberties and traditions of freedom. At times in our history we have compromised those principles but still we have endured. I believe that we are entering a period where our principles of liberty and traditions of individual freedom are being tested like never before. We need to get back to the founding principles that made America great – before it is too late.
