Where Do We Go From Here?

Hopefully, to Charleston.

West Virginians understand why our state is a great place live and bring up a family. It has natural beauty and natural resources. It has great people, a low crime rate and unlimited potential. It has a rural character and a great history. And it has great universities.

One of the most encouraging things to me is the quality of the ideas that are coming from our universities. Professor Sobel’s book is a great example. There are many others. What we need now are legislators in Charleston that will implement the policy changes that will enable our great state to prosper. So far, small steps are being taken. We need to pick up the pace. Mountaineers Are Always Free – that should include economic freedom as well.

Prosperity should be a bipartisan – nonpartisan goal. However, it may come as a surprise that one party has controlled the West Virginia state legislature since 1930. It may also come as a surprise that relative to other states, the per capita income of the average West Virginia peaked in 1934. This may be coincidence, but I would suspect not. We are long overdue for a change. That is why I want to be your Delegate in Charleston. I care about the future of our state, and I care about our families and their ability to engage in the pursuit of happiness. I believe in freedom. We need to enact the kind of change that will allow that to happen. I would be honored to work with you to make that happen.
